Indoor Swimming Pool - Burley New Forest Hampshire
The Brief
The brief was to create a design sympathetic to the surroundings within a new forest country estate. The project was based around creating a state of the art indoor pool environment within a barn style building with
a stunning locally sourced new forest oak timber frame. Polypool were appointed to supply the design, management and construction of the project.
The design brief included the following:
• 16.7m x 6m heated domestic indoor swimming pool with hopper profile.
• Fully equipped plant facility to include environmental control for pool water heating, air heating, moisture control and efficient heat reclaim
• Substantial ducting and air supply grille system to deal with expansive glass surfaces covering 80%
of the pool hall
• Cost-effective maintenance and running costs
• Warm and relaxing schemes including high specification pool surround and lighting effects
• Stunning visual impact to compliment backdrop and surroundings
Specification
At the conceptual stage of this project it was imperative to maintain a balance between aesthetics, functionality and overall cost. By using a combination of products this was achieved to the highest standard and to the complete satisfaction of the architect and the client.
The details of the specification for the project are as follows:
• 16.7m x 6m Polypool heat-retaining pool system
• Heavy duty Alkorplan on-site welded liner with mosaic pattern finish
• Heatstar “Phoenix” environmental control unit, ducting system and bevel edged powder coated grilles to windows around pool perimeter
• Astral Pool filtration system including 1200mm bobbin wound sand filter and 2HP filtration pump.
• Eclear Technologies 100% chlorine free water treatment system.
• LED low voltage floor lights and LED adjustable up-lighters into beams
