Private Indoor Pool - Bishops Waltham Hampshire

The Brief

To create a luxurious swimming pool and spa area within a purpose built timber frame enclosure. The emphasis was on best use of space an incorporating a mosaic tiled pool and spa between a shower and
changing facility and a gymnasium whilst offering access to the pool hall from the house. Again best use of space was of prime importance as was creating a building, which was aesthetically pleasing whilst remaining
practical and functional. Polypool were appointed for the design, management and construction of the project.


Specification

It was decide at the early stage of the design that a gunite reinforced concrete construction process would be used. Both the deck level pool and the deck level spa were finished with Italian mosaic tile.

• 9m x 3.6m deck level gunite pool with Italian mosaic tile finish
• 5 hour turnaround on pool water
• Formed corner steps at shallow end of pool
• Monolithic deck level spa with Vitmos Italian mosaic tile finish
• 10 minute turnaround on spa water
• Underwater lighting
• Balancing tanks for overflow from pool and spa under plant room floor
• Purpose built plant room accomodating pool and spa filtration
• Heatstar “Andromeda” environmental control unit for pool water heating, air heating, moisture control and efficient heat reclaim
• Design, specification and installation of Chinese slate flooring in plant room and pool hall
